- How do I go on an investigation with GCGH?
First off, thanks for the interest. To go on an investigation with us, we ask that you contact a Lead Investigator by email and talk to them about it. They will most likely write you back immediately or if you provide a phone number, will call you when you are available and talk to you about it on the phone.
- What should I bring to an investigation?
Most importantly, a sense of adventure. We are out here for our hobby, having fun. We really will not tolerate any joykills. Being a skeptic is fine, but the rules state you must bring an open mind. Speaking of the rules, please read over them prior to attending the investigation and be prepared to sign a paper saying you are ready to abide by those rules and the rules of investigation. Aside from all that, all members need to bring: a flashlight, unscented bug spray, proper clothing, a digital recorder (you can usually find these at pawn shops pretty cheap), a pen and something to write on.
- Why a pen?
If something happens in the investigation, this gives you the chance to quickly grab a pen and write down what you saw or experienced. Time tends to decay everything you remember. It's best to get down what you can when you can, and some people say that a spirit can draw energy from the batteries in your digital recorder, rendering it useless. A pen doesn't have batteries.
- I have pictures here that I think are paranormal. Can I get you to look at them and tell me what you think?
You better believe it! We would love to see it. We will do our best to let you know what we think about your pictures/video/experiences and get back to you on it. We will even post it up on our website. Remember, that anything submitted to us becomes our property and allows us to use it freely from then on, but we will still give you credit. You could be famous!
- I think my house is haunted. Will you guys take a look and let me know what is going on?
If you think your house is haunted, we are interested. We will come out to anywhere in the Houston area, including all the way to Corpus Christi, Baton Rouge, and as far north as Dallas. We will have to schedule a time with you, but in most places in the Houston area, we can have someone come scout out your location in as few as four days. The person coming out will show up with a video camera, a digital camera and a digital recorder and show you the equipment and take pictures. They will record your conversation and ask you questions, such as 'When did the activity first begin?' We will take all the information we get from the scouting mission and assess the situation and decide when and if we can have an investigation there. Obviously, the more activity you have, the quicker we will want to be out there.
- What do I get out of you doing an investigation?
First and foremost, peace of mind. It's sometimes nice to hear that someone impartial, someone who has dealt with this before is seeing the things you see and hearing the things you hear. We will give you a copy of everything we get in our investigation if you want it (please allow us time to go through the evidence and put together a package for you), and then if we like the evidence, we will put up your investigation on youtube. Don't worry, we will keep your anonymity if you ask us to.
- I really don't want anyone to know who I am. Can you arrange that?
Of course. We completely respect you and your property. If you ask us not to reveal your identity, then we won't. We can include your voice on the film, or we can leave you out. We can have you in the film or not. Again, just talk to us about it. We will only include what you want us to include.
- Will you take the ghosts with you?
Short answer? No. Our specialty is more along the line of verifying what you are already seeing. We can work with you in extreme cases to get you in touch with someone who can help you more than we can.
- Do you deal in demons too?
We are more than willing to come out and see what you are experiencing. Like I said before, more than anything we want to offer the situation of verifying what you are already experiencing. It's amazing how much relief just knowing you aren't alone can offer.
- Do you investigate just ghosts, or are you able to investigate anything else?
Email us or ask on the forum with what you have and we will figure out a way to investigate it. Unless you consider your husband cheating 'paranormal', we aren't really into doing private investigations, but hey... you never know. If you see the chupacabra, definitely give us a holler.
- I have a paranormal group now, and want to go with your group on an investigation. Can we do that?
The short answer here is maybe. Give a lead investigator a holler and talk to them about it. We firmly believe in the idea of sharing experiences between groups and going together in investigations. Maybe you know something we don't. We can learn from each other.
